    Geauga Park District’s 2026 seasons for high ropes and boat borrowing kicks off Saturday, May 23. If you’re interested, we hope to see you out there, and please bookmark this page for current information on both opportunities.

     

    High ropes course at Claridon Woodlands

    Please read all the information on our High Ropes Course page before you head out to climb.

    High ropes are typically open the following dates and times, but please check the reservations module below for availability before coming out.

    Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays: 10 AM-4 PM
    Fridays: Noon-6 PM

    Upcoming exceptions:
    June 18 – closed
    Additional exceptions will be posted here as they come up throughout the season.

    Reservations are required. As space is available, same-day reservations can be made online, by phone or onsite. Geauga County residents can climb for free (ID required). Sessions will be conducted rain or shine, but will be canceled due to severe weather such as thunderstorms. Last minute weather-related closures are posted to our social media, and efforts are made to call all affected registrations. Click the SMS when registering for last minute updates.

    Ropes Course Waiver Form • Safety Rules of Participation

    Ropes sessions are one hour in length; group size is up to 8 people. Admission is free only for Geauga County residents (IDs checked for proof of residency). All out-of-county residents are $20, even if they are registered by, or included on the same reservation as, a Geauga resident. Fees must be paid by credit card, either online or onsite at check-in.

    With at least two weeks’ prior notice, ropes can still be reserved by outside camp or corporate groups with variable schedules based on group needs. Contact Trevor at twearstler@geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-226-2548 for more information.

     

    Kayak, canoe & paddleboat borrowing at Headwaters Park

    Please read all the information below before you head out for a boat.

    High ropes are typically open the following dates and times.

    Saturdays & Sundays: 10 AM-5 PM (last boats out at 4 PM)

    Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays: Noon-7 PM (last boats out at 6 PM)

    All times are first come, first served. Geauga County residents can borrow boats for free (ID required), up to two hours for canoe and kayak and one hour max for paddleboats. For out-of-county residents, boat borrowing costs $7 for child kayak, $10 for adult single kayak, $14 for tandem kayak or canoe, and $18 for paddleboats (credit card only, paid onsite). A driver’s license will be held as a security deposit for each boat loan.

    Provided Coast Guard-approved life vests must be worn at all times; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and sorry, dogs are not permitted on our boats.
